Richard Frank Forti, 72, of Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Madison, CT, went home to the Lord December 9, 2017 at Yale Smilow Cancer Hospital surrounded in love by his family. Born on Valentine’s Day, 1945, to Angelo and Bella Forti in Bridgeport, CT. He attended Quinnipiac College and served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Richard married the love of his life, Lois Charlene Puglisi on May 28, 1966. He was retired from Unilever Corporation after an illustrious and accomplished 35 year career. A man of great faith, his main joy in life was his family and friends. He touched all who knew him with his magnanimous generosity of spirit and love of life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lois and his 4 children; Todd and his wife, Erica of Madison, CT; Chad and his wife Jennifer of Woodbridge, CT; Tiffany and her husband Eric Swindle of Worcester, MA; and his daughter Jenna of Fort Myers, FL.

He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren who were the light of his life; Mia and Ty Forti; Benjamin, Max and Rebecca Forti; Quincy, Skylar and Langston Swindle; and Payton, Presley and Price Vest. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Shirley Arsenault and Arlene Zayas and is survived by his sister, Kathleen Dzujna and brother, Robert Forti.

Friends may call at the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven THURSDAY from 4:00-8:00 PM and are asked to go directly to the North Madison Congregational Church, 1271 Durham Rd., North Madison Friday morning for Services at 11:00 followed by military honors.
