Parking Regulations Reminder During Madison Center Project
Parking downtown in many areas is limited to two hours. Read the full list below.
The Madison Center Project is well underway as construction along the north side of Main Street has removed most of the old curbing and sidewalks. Over the next several weeks the remaining curbing and sidewalks along the north side of the street will be removed, a new concrete base will be poured and new curbing and pavers will be installed.
The Economic Development Commission and Police Department remind residents, employees and visitors of the town’s existing parking regulations downtown, which in many cases restrict parking to 2-hours.
Parking in the following areas is restricted to 2-hours Monday - Saturday: · Boston Post Road (between Wall Street and Rt. 79); · The Scranton Memorial Parking Lot; · Samson Rock Drive (the north side of the road); and · Wall Street (the west side of the road) · And where posted

The Madison Center Project is a comprehensive streetscape initiative that will improve downtown. The project will be completed in two phases. The first phase is scheduled to run through mid-November, stop for the winter and resume in spring, wrapping up next summer.
Construction and Improvements Include: • Replacement of sidewalks with brick pavers in herringbone pattern • New center median with permanent plantings, irrigation and electrical • Installation of granite curbing • Relocation of overhead utilities • New energy efficient, decorative lighting with flag and banner poles • New trees and plantings that meet commercial aesthetical and growth desires • Inlaid brick paver crosswalks • New improved entrance and signage to Tuxis Walkway • New vehicular brick paver apron in front of Fire House will reduce asphalt and improve pedestrian safety • Condensed asphalt coverage at the west end of town to improve traffic and pedestrian safety and improve aesthetics • Decorative signage
