Physician-Assisted Suicide Legislation Dies in Public Health Committee. Deadline Passes without a Vote on House Bill 5326.

Thank God! The effort to defeat the legalization of physician-assisted suicide in our state succeeded FOR NOW.

   Unfortunately, the supporters of physician-assisted suicide have already stated that they will be back next year to pursue passage of such legislation. Get ready to face the challenge again during the 2015 legislative session. 

Since 1994, only three states have adopted laws authorizing physician-assisted suicide, while over 126 legislative efforts have failed. Let us continue to work together in preventing Connecticut from becoming the fourth.
