The biggest secret about money and retirement

Perhaps the biggest money secret is that making money isn’t how you get rich or how you maximize your retirement saving and investing. Making money or having income is only half of what you need. It’s just as important to monitor and control your spending. I propose that the wealthiest people and the people who most enjoy retirement are not those who start with the biggest pots of gold. The most savvy

retirees and the most “well-off” people are those who spend less than they earn (or take in.) If you spend more than you earn (and that’s easy to do with credit cards and lucrative sounding deals and low down payments) you end up in debt. As much as you can, put debt to death. Eliminate it or at least reduce it in your life. Debt’s the evil twin brother to inflation. Don’t let them gang up and ruin your retirement.
