Polson Middle Has 5 COVID-19 Cases, Including 1 Staff Member

And with 1 new staff case at the Town Campus Learning Center​, ​there are now 10 "active" student cases and 2 "active" employee cases.​

MADISON, CT - Madison schools reported new coronavirus cases Thursday, and one is of a staff member at Polson Middle School, according to the data published by the district.

In a letter to families, schools superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke wrote that “members of our Polson Middle School community have tested positive for COVID-19,” but did not state the number of cases.

According to the schools' COVID-19 case tracker, which is usually updated toward the end of the school day, Wednesday there were two active student cases at the school. Thursday afternoon at 4:30, the tracker was updated to note two additional student cases and one employee case.

Cooke said that after contact tracing was done, "all students directly impacted by this temporary shift to remote learning have already been contacted by a school administrator," and the school can remain open. It's not clear how many students and educators are affected by the shift to distance learning, meaning quarantine.

Also, one new "active" employee case was reported at the Town Campus Learning Center, according to the case tracker.

There are currently 10 students and two staff members who have "active" cases of COVID-19.
