Preschool and Summer Program for Children 2 years - Pre-K

Preschool and Summer programs for children 2 years - Pre-K! At The Learning Village of Madison, registration is NOW OPEN!

At the Learning Village we believe that the primary goal of pre-school education is to help the children build a strong foundation for a life of active, creative, and curious learning. This is accomplished through guiding children towards free and creative self expression, utilizing personal interests, and creating an atmosphere of both being appreciated and learning to appreciate. We encourage the development of self-esteem and self-confidence and promote the development of language, problem solving skills and negotiation. Children learn through experience. We provide opportunities for discovery as well as guided teaching and we make use of those "seize the moment" lessons. Children are provided with time space and materials to have and explore wonderful ideas.

Our teachers plan a curriculum based around the goals and objectives's of a thematically driven developmentally appropriate program. The curriculum addresses children's varying learning styles, developmental levels and interests. Children will have the opportunity to utilize and express themselves through hands on, multi sensory activities. Materials and equipment are organized in centers and easily accessible to children. Some of the centers found in each classroom are: sensory, art, blocks, physical science, manipulatives, reading, writing, and dramatic play.

In addition to Preschool hours, the Learning Village offers separate workshops thought by Amy Stevens from “Amy’s Active Learning” These workshops are designed to encourage exploration, problem solving and curiosity while using a variety of learning approaches to touch upon all learning types. They include areas such as art, science, nutrition and literacy, while also including custom themes, holidays and/or seasonal activities. Amy incorporates fun, energizing movement games, yoga and exercises into each and every workshop to keep the brains and bodies of these children moving!
