Proposed Madison Charter Amendments On November Election Ballot

MADISON, CT — The Board of Selectmen voted to place questions regarding proposed amendments to the Town Charter on the ballot in conjunction with the Nov. 8 statewide election.

The Town Charter is the basic document that defines the organization, powers, functions, and essential procedures of Madison’s town government.

The proposed amendments to the Charter were recently approved by Selectmen and are based on recommendations made by a Charter Review Commission after an 18-months long public review process. Information summarizing the proposed revisions to the Charter will be available on the town website in September.
