Residents Ramp Up Fight Against Proposed Education Site In Madison
Residents reportedly oppose the redevelopment of a historic home on Opening Hill Road by the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation.
MADISON, CT — Residents are ramping up their opposition to a proposed educational facility at 6 Opening Hill Road in Madison.
The Shoreline Times reports that more than 60 people attended an informational meeting last week on the project, which is also scheduled to be the subject of a Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing on May 16.
The Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation, wants to move from New Haven to the Madison site, which is a historic home that was previously owned by the Tremaine family.

Neighbors oppose the plans for the property, because they do not want to see commercial elements in an otherwise quiet, residential part of town.
They have retained New Haven-based attorney Bernard Pellegrino as counsel during upcoming land use hearings.
