Shoreline Greenway Trail Holds Annual Meeting May 25
Leader of bike-friendly initiative in Simsbury keynotes Shoreline Greenway Trail's annual meeting and celebration

Shoreline Greenway Trail (SGT) will hold its annual meeting and celebration on Wednesday, May 25, at the Madison Senior Center Cafe beginning at 7 p.m. The featured speaker will be Pattie Smith Jacobus, a leader of an effort to make Simsbury, Connecticut, more bike-friendly and earn that town designation by the League of American Bicyclists as Connecticut’s first Bike-Friendly Community.
Jacobus is a founding member of Simsbury Free Bike, an all-volunteer bike-sharing program that evolved into the north-central Connecticut town’s principal bicyclist and pedestrian advocacy organization. She’ll discuss her group’s advocacy work and explain how expanding its approach from a local to a regional one helped enable success.
SGT will update attendees on recent progress and future plans for the trail, and conduct a brief election of officers for the coming year. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
