SHORELINE GREENWAY TRAIL PLANS GUILFORD BIKE RIDE ON OCTOBER 3

A 25-mile bike ride through Guilford, led by Shoreline Greenway Trail

Shoreline Greenway Trail (SGT), which is building a dedicated bicycle and walking trail between Madison and New Haven, will hold a 25-mile bike ride through Guilford on Saturday, October 3, as part of its First Saturday series of outdoor events.

Participants should meet at 10 a.m. on the east side of the Guilford green, across from Town Hall. SGT’s Ted Braun will lead the ride, which will take cyclists from downtown Guilford northward to Lake Quonnipaug and back. Riders will pass historic homes on State Street, then follow Little Meadow Road and South Hoop Pole Road to the lake, which they will loop around for the return trip to Guilford center. The course includes some relatively mild inclines and hilly sections.

Helmets and signed waivers are required. Parking is available around the green.
