Shoreline Youth Symphony Orchestra Bake Sale 12/6

Shoreline Youth Symphony Orchestra and Whiz Kids Bake Sale Saturday, December 6 at Madison Stop and Shop Stop by and have a cookie!

The Shoreline Youth Symphony Orchestra, also known as SYSO, is a community youth musical group composed of high school age musicians from the Shoreline towns in central coastal Connecticut. We play the great classical symphonic music, original contemporary compositions for orchestra, as well as lighter “pops” or show music. Our mission is to offer a quality musical experience in orchestra playing for interested young musicians.

The Whiz Kids orchestra is ideal for the younger student to experience playing in a symphonic orchestra at a less demanding level. Musician ages typically range from 5th to 8th grade, and occasionally younger. No auditions are required to join and young musicians are encouraged to try the Whiz Kids orchestra for a few weeks to see if they are ready to join.

In addition, we form smaller ensembles for performances, including jazz bands and a fiddle club. All of these elements combine to create a welcoming and encouraging opportunity for young musicians to grow, contribute, and develop their talents, all in the company of other like-minded students from a wide geographical region.
