'Thank You' Parade Set For The Banisches, Who're Leaving Madison
In a Facebook post where she commented on a New York Times story about Madison, Eileen Banisch said she and husband Tom are moving south.

MADISON, CT —Before heading for the Deep South, some in the community are throwing them a "thank you" car parade, Noreen Kokoruda said on Facebook Sunday.
Former First Selectman Tom Banisch and Madison Chamber of Commerce executive directorEileen Banisch are leaving Madison for South Carolina, according to a news report and Eileen Banisch's Facebook.
She noted in a Facebook post that the couple was headed to Surfside Beach, around 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach on the Carolina coast.

A car parade is set for Feb. 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the Surf Club. The New Haven Register reports the vehicle parade will drive by the couple's Madison and include "firetrucks, local civic groups and citizens."
Monday, Kokoruda said on Facebook that Feb. 21 "has been designated Eileen and Tom Banisch Day in Madison."

Indeed, the first item on the business agenda for the Board of Selectman's meeting Tuesday is to "take action to approve a Proclamation honoring Tom Banisch and Eileen Banisch."
