Thefts From Cars In Madison Continues To Skyrocket

Police have been very busy lately responding to complaints of thefts from vehicles in Madison.

MADISON, CT – A recent spate of thefts from cars in Madison shows no signs of slowing down. Police first noticed a spike in the thefts the last few days of November and the first week of December. The spike has continued.

The thefts are also happening in other towns. In the past few days, the Branford Police Chief, Kevin Halloran, warned residents to put Christmas packages in their trunks when they are shopping.

On December 9th in Madison there was a theft from an auto on Circle Beach Road.

On December 11th there were five different calls concerning thefts from autos.

There were two thefts from two separate vehicles on Middle Beach Road; a theft from a motor vehicle on Lawson Drive; another theft from a vehicle on Bradley Road, and one on Surf Club Road.

The next day, December 12th, there was a theft from an auto on Sunset Road.
