Tigers Defeat Hamden 42-7 [VIDEO]

The Daniel Hand Football Team won its final home game of the season against Hamden in convincing fashion and remains undefeated at 9-0.

The Hamden Green Dragons received the opening kickoff and fumbled the ball back to Hand on the first play from scrimmage.  Hand wasted no time in capitalizing on that mistake when Henry Foye tossed a 20 yard pass to Kyle Anderson for the first score of the game.

Hand forced Hamden to punt on the next possession and a great runback by Matt Sullivan put the Tigers in great field position.  Foye then found Nick Vitale for a 13 yard scoring pass.

On the next possession Senior linebacker Jason Cianfaglione picked off a Hamden pass and returned the interception 40 yards for a "pick six."

Minutes later, after forcing another Hamden punt, Kevin Frey broke free on a 30 yard touchdown run to put the Tigers up 28-0 with over a minute remaining in the first quarter.

The Tigers put up one more score before the half after Austin Pardis pulled in a pass from Foye and scampered 65 yards to the Hamden 2 yard line.  Foye then connected with Jason Raleigh for his third touchdown pass of the night.

In the second half, QB Matt Sullivan found Will Reynolds in the end zone from 5 yards out to make the score 42-0 with eight minutes left in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter Hamden finally got on the board after a blocked punt gave them a short field.  Junior QB Eli Bonadies scrambled and ran it in to make the final score Hand 42, Hamden 7.

Hand has one game remaining in the regular season.  That would be the annual Thanksgiving match-up with Guilford.  This year they will play on Thanksgiving Eve, November 23rd at 7 p.m. in Guilford.
