Troop 490 Scout Noah Hastings earns his Eagle Rank

On Wednesday January 8, 2014, Noah Hastings of Troop 490
passed his Eagle Board of Review becoming the Troop 490's
newest Eagle Scout.  The Board of Review was held at
St. Andrew's Church, where Troop 490 holds their weekly
meetings. The Board was made up of District Advancement
Committee members Laurie Caraway and Jerry Blanusa,
Troop 490 Advancement Chair, Paul Rossi, and Troop 490
Committee member Doug Conner.

Noah began his road to Eagle Scout as a Tiger cub in Pack 491
in Madison. As a Webelo II he crossed over to Troop 490 in 2008.
He has been an active Scout and a leader in the Troop. He has
been on many camp outs with the Troop and attended Summer
Camp at Camp Yawgoog in Rhode Island.  Noah has also served
as a Camp Counselor for several summers at Camp Dudley, the
oldest continually run YMCA Camp in the United States.

Noah's Eagle project was the creation of an Orienteering
course at Rockland Preserve in North Madison. Noah planned
and organized the project, and supervised other Scouts from
Troop 490 and friends in the building of the course. The course
will be of use to all in the town of Madison, and will be used
throughout the year.

As Troop Committee Chairman I want to congratulate Noah
on earning the Eagle Rank, and thank him for all his time and
dedication to the Troop.  An Eagle Court of Honor will be planned
for some date in the future.
