Twisting Employment Data

According to the US Government, October 2013 unemployment really is 13.8%! Today I read an article about unemployment. It bothers me greatly that our government twists the data to make the situation look better. I would love to see full employment again. But, I want it to be real.

The government unemployment numbers typically cited do not tell the whole story! We need to look at the total number of people employed before this crisis and compare it to our current number employed. Many people have stopped looking for jobs, retired early because they can't find work, work only part-time because they can't find full-time work, are under-employed, or no longer qualify for unemployment and thus are not counted in the unemployment stats.

In fact, all the above categories I just mentioned are not counted when determining the "traditional" unemployment rate. If one examines the US Government's Bureau of Labor Statistics "U-6" alternate unemployment number, which is more inclusive that the typically cited number, one would see the latest US unemployment jumps from cited 7.3% typically used by Washington to the more correct 13.8% for October 2013! Don't let sleight of hand with government data fool you. We need to put people back to work in decent paying jobs to return this nation to a state of prosperity. Research and be informed about what we are being fed by Washington and Hartford.

We, the voters of CT, must demand officials of all parties follow the will of the people and stop the outrageous spending and unprecedented over-regulation of our population that got us into our current mess. Then we must seek out those leaders with a vision for all Americans that includes prosperity, economic freedom, personal freedom, and a strong nation-state.  That vision doesn't include a specific Party label... it is simply American!
