WATCH: Ryerson Elementary's 'Welcome Aboard, Ryerson' Video
Principal Kelly Spooner shares the what-to-know for families of the K-3 elementary school with a "fun concept" for the school year ahead.
MADISON, CT — With in-person learning, kids from Madison, including the kindergarten to third graders at Ryerson Elementary, go back to school on Aug. 30.
Ryerson principal Kelly Spooner posted a "Welcome aboard, Ryerson" video for families to help with first day navigation. Students receive a color-coded "train ticket" that helps to guide students on a school year she described as a "great journey." The ticket on a lanyard gets worn by kids and the color will match their classroom and their teachers, who will wear a color-matching visor, like a train conductor.
On a Ryerson Facebook post, a number of parents have responded to the "fun concept," calling it a great way to welcome kids back to school.
