Webinars For Families With School Reopening Anxiety, Questions

Madison Public Schools has webinars slated Tuesday on distance learning, and one next week on how to manage 'reopening anxiety.'

MADISON, CT — As August is quickly going to be in the rear window, and the first day of school is fast approaching, families with concerns about distance learning, and how to manage, and cope, with the anxiety associated with schools reopening during the pandemic, there is help.

Webinar on Distance Learning Instructional Model Tuesday Night
Madison Public School officials are present a Zoom webinar Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the district's Distance Learning Instructional Model.

Families can access the webinar here. A recording will be available on the district website Wednesday, for those who cannot attend. Families can also watch on the school's YouTube channel by clicking here.

On Aug. 24 at 6 p.m., a Managing Reopening Anxiety webinar is slated to help families.

According to the school's website, webinar panelists will discuss "general ways parents can help ease student anxiety, what steps the district is taking to ease student anxiety the first week of school, and how the district supports students with anxiety throughout the year."

panelists include Madison Youth and Family Services Assistant Director Angela Ahern, Jeffrey Elementary School Principal Rebecca Frost, Daniel Hand High School Assistant Principal Melanie Whitcher and school counselor Eliza Hayes.
