George Hession of Glastonbury received the Health Care Partner of the Year Award at the 110th annual meeting of VNA HealthCare on February 15. The award recognizes someone who has helped to elevate, validate or promote the ability of home health care to improve health care in our region.
Through his efforts and the financial support of Jefferson House of Newington, a provider of long term care and rehabilitation services to seniors, the agency’s Care Transition program became a reality. In addition, through his vision Jefferson House funded a study on Congestive Heart Failure and the use of telemonitoring services.
His enthusiasm for growth, progress and innovation is becoming well-known within VNA HealthCare. On presenting the award Rothberg said, “When George received his Masters in Public Health from Yale University he probably never realized just how much health care would change and how much impact he could have upon that change.
