Arrest Made In Manchester Child Sex Abuse Investigation
A Hartford man is accused of sexually abusing a child in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police have made an arrest in a two-month investigation into sexual abuse involving a child.
According to case records, in May, the Manchester Police Department's Child Investigations Unit received a tip that Jesus Manuel Figueroa, a 32-year-old out of Hartford, was suspected of sexually abusing a child.
Police would only classify the child as a "minor."

According to a news release, detectives conducted an "extensive investigation" and a warrant for the arrest of Figueroa was issued. Manchester police, assisted by members of the Hartford Police Department Violent Crimes Unit, took Figueroa into custody Wednesday, according to a news release.

- First-degree sexual assault (four counts)
- Fourth-degree sexual assault (3 counts)
- Strangulation or suffocation in the third degree (one count)
- Risk of injury to or impairing the morals of a minor (seven counts)
Figueroa was being held Wednesday on a court-set $750,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court Thursday, police said.
