Bob's Golf Outing Hits the $7 Million Mark in Donations

The Bob's Discount Furniture annual golf event has now raised more than $7 million for charities.

MANCHESTER, CT — Bob’s Discount Furniture officials said the company's 2018 golf outing raised $635,000 for children’s charities and that the tournament has raised more than $7 million for in its 31-year history.

Officials said the money will benefit organizations selected by the Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation, including the Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, Camp Rising Sun, Family & Children's Aid, The Jimmy Fund, Connecticut Children's Medical Center, and Cardinal Cushing Centers.

Bob's is headquartered in Manchester.

More than 450 participants took part in the July 17 event that included a round of golf at Tunxis Plantation, along with an evening at The Farmington Club with dinner and an awards ceremony.

The night featured both live and silent auctions, and Bob’s Discount Furniture co-founders Bob Kaufman and Gene Rosenberg emceed the live auction. Guests included Bob’s employees, vendors, and partners.

“Over the past 31 years this golf tournament continues to expand with new and familiar faces,”Kaurman said. “Our commitment to charity is a top priority of our company and this annual event is a large contributor to our ongoing charitable efforts, raising money for multiple local charities.”
