Join us at 1 pm next Saturday, November 8, at Manchester High School for exciting performances of kung fu and Chinese cultural arts!
Master Malee Khow and Malee's School of Tai Chi & Kung Fu of Manchester is organizing the 15th New England International Chinese Martial Arts Championships, and the Opening Ceremony and Masters Demonstrations are open to the public.
Starting with traditional lion dance and dragon dance, the hourlong event will feature speeches by famous masters along with world-famous forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee. Other performances include classical Chinese dance and music, plus kung fu and tai chi by masters and schools from around the world.
One of the biggest performances will be Grandmaster Chung from California and his famous demonstration of the power of kung fu in which he breaks a bamboo pole suspended by two pieces of paper with a wooden sword without tearing the paper.
Performers from New England, San Francisco, Chicago, and as far away as China will also be there to wow spectators with their skills.
Buy tickets at the door. Tickets for the event are good for the whole day, so you can also watch competitions from high-level athletes from 9 am to noon and 2 to 7 pm.
