Connecticut Concert Ballet's Spring Performance 2018

Connecticut Concert Ballet's Spring Performance will be performed Saturday May 5 at 6 pm and Sunday May 6 at 2 pm at the Bailey Auditorium

Connecticut Concert Ballet will present its Spring Performance on Saturday, May 5 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m. Choreographers for the show are Wendy Fish-Lawrence, David Lawrence, Lorelei Chang and Christina Shortt.

37 local residents will perform including lead dancers Sara Baldwin and Maricel Thongmanivong. Sara will appear as a Tourist on the trip of her life in the CCB original composition “Postcards from Paris”. This piece follows a whirlwind tour of Paris and the many sights, characters and confections they meet along the way, from Madeline-like Schoolgirls to a Chic Girl danced by Maricel.

Sara and Maricel will also be featured in the Ensemble Piece "A Promise", the Modern Dance "Life Cycle of Five Elements" and a Jazz Dance called "Kouza".

Performances will be held at the state of the art Bailey Auditorium, Manchester High School, 134 Middle Turnpike East.

Advance Prices: Preferred Front & Center Seats $35; General Admission: Adult $25, Child/Student/Senior $15. Tickets are available at www.tututix.com/CTConcertBallet and will be $38, $28, $18 at the door.

A PROMISE makes a timely return to remind us of the fragility of life. A chorus of school children directed by Anjanee Wright with assistance by Amy Cele and in collaboration with the Music School at Sound Crossing also performs.

LIFE CYCLE OF FIVE ELEMENTS will expand your mind with dances inspired by Asian views of the universe to bring balance and harmony into your life

The stunning PAS DE TROIS DES ODALISQUES from the classic LE CORSAIRE will awe and inspire. Former CCB students who currently train at the American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York, New York under Artistic Director Cynthia Harvey are returning as special guests

Jazz pieces PINK PANTHERS IN PARIS and KOOZA are light-hearted and fun

POSTCARDS FROM PARIS follows two tourists on a whirlwind tour of Paris and the many sights, characters and confections they meet along the way

Connecticut Concert Ballet is a semi-professional 501(c)(3) classical ballet school and performing arts organization with studios in Manchester on the Glastonbury line and in Windsor in the Great Hall at Grace Church. CCB brings fully staged ballet and dance productions to audiences from all over Connecticut twice a year including the Nutcracker in December and the Spring Performance in May.

CCB offers a robust, year-round schedule of classes in ballet, modern and jazz for ages 3 to adult. It has 300 students from over 40 towns in the Greater Hartford, northern and eastern areas of the state. Connecticut Concert Ballet proudly employs the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum.
