MANCHESTER, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Sarah Siameh, who nominated Erin Nowak of Manchester.

What does the nominee do for work?

Stay at home mom and mask maker

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

Eric created a sewing group and fundraiser to help local sewists gave the supplies they need to make masks for our community. Through her coordination we have been able to make and donate thousands of masks for local and distant hospitals, doctors offices, grocery workers, EMTs, librarians, and more. Erin managed to coordinate all the with 2 toddlers and 7months pregnant. She’s amazing.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?

Erin has such a big heart and great leadership skills.
