Cruiser Damaged During Auto Theft Task Force Arrest In Manchester

MANCHESTER, CT — Two arrests were made and a gun was seized during a task force detail in Manchester Tuesday.
On Tuesday, members of the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force were working a detail in Hartford when officers observed 22-year-old Frankie Almodovar-Roman of Hartford get
in a vehicle with three others, according to an incident report. Task Force Officers knew Almodovar-Roman to have an active felony warrant at the time and followed the car out of Hartford to Center Springs Park in Manchester, according to an incident report.
Officers converged on the vehicle and detained all four occupants, including Almodovar-Roman and Junior Jorge, 20, of Hartford, according to an incident report.

While being detained, officers observed an "extended firearm magazine" on the back seat floorboard of the vehicle, and, during a subsequent search, a "ghost" gun was also
located in the passenger compartment, according to an incident report.
Almodovar-Roman struggled with officers while being taken into custody damaged the interior of a police cruiser, according to an incident report.

Almodovar-Roman was charged with interfering with an officer and third-degree criminal mischief and released to the custody of Glastonbury police on an active felony warrant.
Jorge was charged with interfering with an officer after attempting to conceal his
identity. He was determined to have two outstanding failure-to-appear warrants, and he was taken into custody and held on bond.
Additional charges are expected regarding the seized firearm.
