VERNON/MANCHESTER, CT — A 20-year-old from Manchester has been charged in connection with fleeing a traffic stop at high-speeds in a car with a misused plate and a charitable emblem on it, state police said.

A warrant was served on May 31 to Renaud Content, 20, of Manchester, state police said. He was charged with falsifying a marker plate, improper use of a marker plate, reckless driving, second-degree reckless endangerment, engaging police in a pursuit and interfering, along with window tint and insurance violations, according to a warrant.

According to a warrant, the case dates back to March 1, when a license plate reader being employed by state police alerted a trooper to a black Audi with "dark" tinted windows heading east on Interstate 84 near Exit 63. The Audi had no front plate and the rear plate did not match the vehicle, according to a warrant. Attached to the plate was a emblem from the Hundred Club of Connecticut, a non-profit organization dedicated to surviving spouses and children of police officers, firefighters and corrections officers who have given their lives in the line of duty, according to a warrant.
