Date Changed For State Open Cross Country Championships
The probability of inclement weather has prompted CIAC officials to change the date of the State Open.

MANCHESTER, CT β For the second time in less than a week, the threat of inclement weather has prompted officials of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) to change the date of a state championship cross country meet.
The State Open, scheduled for Friday at Wickham Park, will instead be run Thursday at the same venue. The race times will be the same on Thursday as originally scheduled on Friday, with the boys race at 2 p.m. and the girls race to follow at 2:45.
"While rescheduling cross country championship races is rarely necessary, the unique circumstances of the weather this season and the available competition days prompted this decision to move the races to try and provide the best possible conditions for the culminating CIAC cross country championship event," CIAC officials said in a written statement, citing the possible "deterioration of an already wet course."
