Defendant Gets 35 Years For WH Man's Stabbing Death In Manchester
A Hartford man has been sentenced in connection with the fatal stabbing of a West Hartford man in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — A judge has rendered a hefty sentence in a nearly two-year-old stabbing case in Manchester.
Hartford State's Attorney Sharmese L. Walcott said Wednesday Garry Ramsey, 58, of Hartford, was sentenced Judge Kevin C. Doyle to 35 years in prison in connection with the stabbing death 68-year-old West Hartford resident Robert Callahan, in Manchester on June 5, 2021.
A Superior Court jury on Feb. 7, found Ramsey guilty of murder.

According to case records, Ramsey traveled to a Manchester home searching for an acquaintance. When the Callahan refused to let him in, Ramsey forced his way into the home and fatally stabbed him, according to case records.
"Our thoughts are with the loved ones of Mr. Callahan at this time and we hope that with this sentence of the Court, they can find some peace," State's Attorney Walcott said. "We are grateful to the Manchester Police Department for their work on this investigation."
