Drugs, Guns Seized In Manchester Bust
A regional task force, local police and federal agents descended on a Manchester residence Thursday.

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police Friday announced a sizable drug bust from the day before.
On Thursday, members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force, working collaboratively with the federal DEA Tactical Diversion Squad and the Manchester Police Department, concluded an investigation into the residence at 144 Campfield St. in Manchester, and specifically resident Karl Smith, according to a news release.
Investigators possessed two arrest warrants for narcotics sales involving Smith, according to a news release.

Smith was taken into custody and charged with the sale of narcotics (MDMA and cocaine), possession of narcotics with the intent to sell (cocaine, opiate pills, and marijuana), operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of firearms.
Smith was held on $700,000 in total bonds.

During the arrest, officers located and seized not only "a large quantity" of narcotics, but three guns and a sum of cash, according to a news release.
Additional charges related to the items seized are pending, police said.
