Author Hanna Perlstein Marcus

Author Hanna Perlstein Marcus: The Reference and Adult Services Department of the Manchester Public Library announces the appearance of Connecticut author Hanna Perlstein Marcus on March 26 at 7pm. Marcus uses sewing metaphors to tell the story of her mother and herself, who came to Massachusetts from a displaced persons camp in the aftermath of the Holocaust. With no other family, except each other, they built a world that revolved around the mother’s remarkable talent as fashion designer and seamstress while the daughter served as her dutiful model. The author will give a slide presentation as a means of discussing her book - "Sidonia's Thread: the secrets of a mother and daughter sewing a new life in America." Books will be available for sale and signing. The event will be held in the Howroyd Room at the Mary Cheney Library, 586 Main St., Manchester, CT 06040. The FREE program is open to the public and registration is not required. Light refreshments will be served. 860-645-0821.
