Farmington Bank Set to Open Manchester Branch
Farmington bank is moving into Manchester this month.
MANCHESTER, CT — Farmington Bank is scheduled to open a new branch in Manchester on March 22, the bank announced on Thursday.
The branch is located at 299 Middle Turnpike West.
“Our new Manchester branch office continues Farmington Bank’s 167-year history as a trusted and involved community bank,” said John J. Patrick, Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Farmington Bank. “We offer a diversified suite of consumer and commercial banking products as well as support the community through the Farmington Bank Community Foundation and active involvement of our employee volunteers."

The new Farmington Bank office in Manchester is the 25th branch in central Connecticut and western Massachusetts and the first branch in Manchester, he said.
Farmington Bank will host a month-long Grand Opening celebration at the branch office from Saturday, March 31 through Saturday, April 28.

A highlight is the Saturday, April 7 appearance of Tim Wakefield, former Major League Baseball star knuckleball pitcher and Farmington Bank’s celebrity spokesman.
Wakefield will be in attendance from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to meet the public and sign baseballs.
Farmington Bank’s Manchester’s branch office is designed to be a "modern, customer-friendly, open floor setting" with approximately 2,000 square feet of main floor space, plus a drive-up transaction window and drive-up ATM.
The branch features pods in lieu of traditional teller lines where customers will be greeted by universal bankers – staff that can assist them with all their multi-faceted banking needs. In addition, the branch will offer a free coin counting machine for customers.
Leading Farmington Bank’s Manchester branch office are Vice President and Branch Manager Laurie Brooks and Assistant Branch Manager Melissa Lorenson. Brooks has been with Farmington Bank for five years and has 30 years of experience in the banking industry. She’ll continue to oversee Farmington Bank’s South Windsor branch office. Lorenson is a 15-year banking veteran in the Manchester area and has been with Farmington Bank for nearly a year.
The Farmington Bank Manchester branch's month-long Grand Opening celebration includes daily prizes and events suited for all ages and the entire family. In addition to Tim Wakefield’s appearance on April 7, Farmington Bank will host a family day that Saturday that will include face painting and balloon art from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. On Saturday, April 28, the Manchester branch office will host a Shred Day from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or until the truck is full. The community is encouraged to bring their confidential documents for safe, secure and free shredding, with a limit of three boxes per household.
Beyond the month-long Grand Opening Celebration, Farmington Bank will bring its Community Concert Series to Manchester August 10 at the Manchester Community Center Band Shell. The free concert, featuring Simply Swing, will take place from 7 to 8 p.m.
