Fastrak Expansion Involving Manchester Still on the Table

MANCHESTER, CT - Expanding the express bus system east from Manchester to the University of Connecticut is still on the table.
And it was the topic of a meeting hosted by state Department of Transportation officials on Wednesday in Manchester, according to a Hartford Courant report.
Plans for express bus service between the UConn campus in Storrs campus and Hartford, with stops in East Hartford and the Buckland Hills district in Manchester were discussed Wednesday, the Courant reported.

CTTransit provides regular service east of the Connecticut River, but the CTfastrak-style routes are set up mainly south and west of Hartford.
DOT officials have said they want to begin frequent express service between Hartford and Storrs, but decided this spring to put that off because of the state's budget crisis.
