Fire Displaces 16 From Multi-Family Home In Manchester

MANCHESTER, CT — A fire early Wednesday evening displaced 16 people from a multi-family home in Manchester, authorities said.

The blaze at 16 Oak St. was reported by fire officials from Manchester Fire, Rescue and EMS at about 6 p.m. It broke out on the third floor.

Manchester's Eighth Utilities District and the South Windsor Fire Department assisted Manchester Fire, Rescue and EMS.

No injuries were reported, bur heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the dwelling.

The cause is being investigated. The American Red Cross was also at the scene assisting residents.
