MANCHESTER, CT - One of the largest Connecticut-based furniture store chains will soon be expanding its Manchester operation.Bob's Discount Furniture on Tuesday announced plans to construct a 103,000 square foot building near its existing 90,000 square foot site on Tolland Turnpike in Manchester.The company, famous for its TV commercials with pitchman Bob Kaufman imploring viewers to "come on down," will hire 125 new employees over the next five years.Bob's currently operates 690 stores in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic area, and recently expanded into the Midwest with the imminent opening of five stores in the Chicago area.
