MANCHESTER, CT — Doctors Saira Kazmi and Asad Rizvi, and Christine Ciccone and Peter Waite, all of Glastonbury, have contributed endowment-establishing gifts to the MCC Foundation to "help Manchester Community College students achieve their educational goals."
Kazmi and Rizvi established the Nasreen and Imtiaz Rizvi Endowed Scholarship Fund to
support full- or part-time students enrolled in a STEM-related credit-bearing degree or certificate
program at MCC.
Ciccone and Waite established an endowment in their own names to benefit an MCC student enrolled in a credit-bearing degree or certificate program related to the arts.

To qualify for either of these scholarships, students must demonstrate financial need, MCC officials said.
"Endowments are an important revenue source for community colleges. They often support
student scholarships and academic programs," officials said. "By endowing a gift, donors make an investment
that lasts in perpetuity in support of the college's educational mission."
