Green Furniture Polish
A "green" tip by a local cleaning service on how to safely clean your furniture!

By Maid Brigade of Northern CT
Our crew at Maid Brigade in Manchester is all about saving you time and stress. But did you know we're also the only Green Clean Certified house cleaning company in the world? This means that the cleaning equipment, products and processes we use are approved by Green Seal and are safer for you, our maids AND the environment.
For those of you not yet ready to hire a cleaning service (which is MUCH less expensive than you might think), we like to bring you some tips on green cleaning from time to time.
Today - our tip is on GREEN furniture polishing.
Furniture polish can be some NASTY stuff...just as corrosive and destructive as drain cleaners or bleach. That's right - and you're putting it on your grandmother's antique table!
Why is it such nasty stuff? It's usually made of solvents and petroleum distillates (read: bad stuff). They're hazardous and poisonous - so why risk it?
Instead, think "salad". Huh?
Mix two parts olive oil and one part lemon juice...then "wax on, wax off" of your furniture with a soft cloth. If you've got particularly nasty buildup, mix in a little salt (just be gentle you don't scratch the surface - you want to try and dissolve the salt first).
Not only will it look good...and smell good...but it's better for you AND the environment!
