Hartford Man Charged In 2024 Fatal Crash In Manchester: Police
The accident claimed the life of a 26-year-old East Hartford woman on Interstate 84.

MANCHESTER/HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man has been accused of driving while impaired in connection with a fatal crash on Interstate 84 in Manchester about a year ago.
Connecticut State Police last Friday, Feb. 7, announced that Jason Ivers, 27, of Hartford, was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs; second-degree manslaughter; and tampering with evidence on Feb. 6.
According to online court records, Ivers is still being held on $3000 bound following arraignment on Feb. 6 and will next appear in Manchester Superior Court on March 28.

Police said Ivers turned himself in to state police at Troop H in Hartford at about 6:20 a.m. Feb. 6 after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
State police said the arrest warrant for Ivers was issued in connection with a fatal motor vehicle accident on Feb. 8, 2024, on I-84 in Manchester.

The crash claimed the life of 26-year-old Mireilly Nery Vega, of East Hartford, who police said was Ivers' passenger in the vehicle he was driving at the time of the accident.
Ivers was taken into custody without incident.
