Hartford Shockers Win ECBL Mid-Atlantic Division Championship

The Manchester-based team is the 2022 ECBL Mid-Atlantic Division champion.

MANCHESTER, CT — The Hartford Shockers beat the Hub City (Hagerstown, MD) Hogs 125-114 Saturday afternoon at East Cathloic High School to capture the 2022 ECBL Mid-Atlantic Division championship.

Saul Phiri (Haverhill, MA/La Salle) had 34 points and seven rebounds and was named player of the game, while Manchester resident and Illing Middle School math teacher Tylon Smith Jr. added 22 points.

"This feels amazing," Shockers owner/head coach Donovin Ford-Hayes said after the win. "We have one more game left that we have to close out, but winning our league is extremely important for us."

The Shockers will host the Petersburg (Virginia) Cavaliers in the SuperCup game on Saturday at East Catholic High School. Game time is 5 p.m.
