Man In Manchester Lockup Rushed To Hospital After 'Medical Episode'
Manchester police said a man in a holding cell suffered a medical episode Sunday.

MANCHESTER, CT — A 37-year-old man being held in the Manchester Police Department lockup after a domestic incident Sunday evening had to be rushed to an area hospital after suffering what police described as a "medical episode" while in custody.
According to an incident report, officers rushed to the holding cell after seeing the man go into distress just before 6 p.m. He was unresponsive and officers rendered medical aid until Manchester Fire/Rescue/EMS
paramedics arrived.
The man was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he remained in critical condition Monday afternoon.

Police said the man was being held on charges stemming from an incident that occurred Friday. At approximately 1:30 p.m. that day, officers responded to the area of Garden Drive after receiving an open 911 call. Police located man and wo man who could be heard screaming at each other on the open 911 line, according to an incident report.
The man was arrested and charged with interfering with police, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

It was discovered that he also had an active extraditable warrant out of Duchess County, NY.
The Office of the Hartford State's Attorney and the State of Connecticut Office of the Inspector General were immediately notified, records show. Representatives from both agencies, as well as the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad, are coordinating the investigation.
