Man Shot During Attempted Robbery At Manchester Gas Station
Manchester police are investigating a violent incident at a local gas station.

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police are investigating a shooting during an attempted robbery at a local filling station early Thursday morning.
The incident took place at 2:06 a.m. at the Mobil station at 427 Hartford Road.
Police said when officers arrived at the scene, they located a 54 year old Manchester man, on the ground in the parking lot of the gas station.The man had sustained a gunshot wound to the hip, police said.

Officers immediately began to provide medical aid to the man, who then told them he was fueling up his vehicle when a dark-colored sedan pulled into the parking lot, according to an incident report.
The man told officers someone had emerged from the car with a gun, ran up to him and demanded money, according to an incident report.

The man attempted to run away and was shot as he fled, police said.
The man told police the assailant left the scene in an unknown direction, according to an inc ident report.
The resident was transported to Hartford Hospital in was listed in stable condition, police said.
