Manchester Directors Designate Buildings for Demolition

The plan to raze the structures was approved on Tuesday.

MANCHESTER, CT β€” A couple of town-owned buildings will soon see the wrecking ball.

The Hartford Courant reported that the Manchester Board of Directors on Tuesday approved a plan to raze a former Asian restaurant on Broad Street and a commercial and residential structure at 111-113 Center St. that has fallen into disrepair.

According to town records, the town took on the Center Street property after the owner failed to pay back taxes of about $224,000.

The Courant reported that no one else bid on the property at a public auction due to the need for extensive repairs.
