Jessee graduated from Springfield College and has dedicated her life to working with and advocating for children, youth, seniors, and people in recovery.

Jessee Muñiz-Poland has been a member of the Manchester community for 25 years. She was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. She and her husband, Ed Poland, of 27 years raised two children, Alicia and Eddie, who graduated from Manchester Public Schools.

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

Jessee is running for her second term on the Manchester Board of Directors.

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

As a proud Manchester resident, I have had many opportunities to support the community. I know that municipal government functions most effectively when community members are empowered to participate. I welcome the chance to serve Manchester as Director and am committed to continuing to advocate for community voices to be heard.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I can't speak for anyone else but I can say that I am extremely committed to my Town and the people that live, work, and play in this beautiful spot in CT.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

I am not facing an incumbent

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Ensuring my community has access to food and services to secure a higher quality of life for our most vulnerable members.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Having sat on this seat and having taken the time to meet our community, and work with my colleagues on the issues affecting all of us qualify me to handle this job as we work in a bipartisan manner to focus on the ultimate goal of ensuring a brighter and safer Manchester for all.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

Manchester is a beautiful place to raise a family and I will work hard to make sure that it remains such for the generations to come!
