Manchester: Here's What Will Be on Your Ballot on Election Day

Information you need to be prepared for Tuesday's 2014 election.

Manchester voters will head to the polls this Tuesday, Nov. 4 for the 2014 midterm election.

On the ballot, registered voters in Manchester will be able to select candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, a representative to U.S. Congress, state senator, state representatives, secretary of state, treasurer, comptroller, attorney general and probate judge.

There is no election for the U.S. Senate this year in Connecticut.

Here’s what the Manchester voting ballot form will look like.

Polling places in Manchester will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Polling locations:

District 1: Robertson School — 65 North School Street

District 2: Manchester High School — Brookfield Street Entrance

District 3: Buckley School — 250 Vernon Street

District 4: Waddell School — 163 Broad Street

District 5: Highland Park School — 397 Porter Street

District 6: Martin School — 140 Dartmouth Road

District 7: Keeney School — 179 Keeney Street

District 8: Verplanck School — 126 Olcott Street

Local Races

There is only one local race, and it isn’t contested: For probate judge, Michael M. Darby, a Democrat, is unopposed.

State Legislature Races

STATE SENATE: 4th DISTRICT

Steve Cassano, the incumbent, is a Democrat who is also on the Working Families Party ballot line.

Whit Osgood, the challenger, is a Republican who is also on the Independent Party ballot line.

STATE HOUSE of REPRESENTATIVES:

11th State Assembly District : Voting District 1

Jack W. Jacobs, a Republican
Jefrey A. Currey. a Democrat

12th State Assembly District : Voting Districts 2, 3, and 4

Rusty Meek, is a Republican

Kelly J.S. Luxenberg, a Democrat, is also on the Working Families Party ballot line


13th State Assembly District : Voting Districts 5 and 6:

Joe Diminico, the incumbent, is a Democrat.

Mark Tweedie, the challenger, is a Republican.


9th State Assembly District : Voting Districts 7 and 8

Jason Rojas, a Democrat, is the incumbent.

Richard Lion, a Libertarian, is the challenger.

Regional and Statewide Races

Governor and lieutenant governor: The candidates are Republicans Thomas Foley and Heather Somers (also on the Independent Party ballot line), Democrats Dannel Malloy and Nancy Wyman (also on the Working Families Party ballot line), while Joe Visconti and Chester Frank Harris are the petitioning candidates.

First U.S. Congressional District: U.S. Rep. John B. Larson, a Democrat (also on the Working Families Party ballot line), faces Republican Matthew M. Corey and Green Party candidate Jeffrey Rusell.

Secretary of the state: Republican Peter Lumaj, incumbent Democrat Denise Merrill and Green Party candidate S. Michael DeRosa are running.

Treasurer: Republican Timothy Herbst is running against Democrat Denise Nappier, the incumbent.

Comptroller: Republican Sharon McLaughlin, Democrat Kevin Lembo and Green Party candidate Rolf Maurer are running.

Attorney general: Republican Kie Westby and and Green Party candidate Stephen Fournier are challenging incumbent Democrat George Jepsen.

Ballot question: Voters will also be asked, “Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to remove restrictions concerning absentee ballots and to permit a person to vote without appearing at a polling place on the day of an election?”.
