A rumored threat caused the lockdown at Manchester High School, the Hartford Courant is reporting.
There was a rumor that a violent event would happen at the school on Friday. There was a posting about it on an instant messenger application and when they saw it, students alerted police.

The lockdown was lifted around 12:40 p.m. as the threat was deemed not credible, reports Moran.

The Hartford Courant’s David Moran is reporting that police say while the school is locked down, the students are not in danger.
Police are investigating an incident.
