Manchester All-You Can Eat Restaurant — Last One In CT — Closes
The last remaining HomeTown Buffet in Connecticut, located in Manchester, has closed.

MANCHESTER, CT — Kitchen equipment was already being hauled out of the HomeTown Buffet in Manchester on Wednesday morning after the last remaining outlet in the state closed abruptly.
The location at 165 Slater St. was shuttered on Jan. 24 and a note posted to three different locations outside the building simply said the all-you-can eat restaurant was closed.

A vehicle with a trailer was parked outside and several pieces of equipment were loaded on board. The equipment had been listed for sale on AuctionNation.com, a depository for business liquidation sales.

The parent company of HomeTown Buffet — Buffets LLC — once owned by a Minnesota entity called Buffets Inc., filed for bankruptcy protection three time in the past dozen years — in 2007, 2012 and 2016.
Subsequently, locations were closed in Enfield, West Hartford, Milford and Wethersfield. The Manchester restaurant was the last one standing in Connecticut.

According to the Manchester assessor's database, the HomeTown Buffet building measures 10,356 square feet and is owned by by the Jack Family Trust. It sits in a corner of a strip mall, accross an intersection from Best Buy.
