Manchester Man Connecting with Vets

On Saturday, the 71st anniversary of the D-Day invasion, veterans in Connecticut will be kicking back and doing some fishing.
Manchester’s Jeff Arnson and Tolland’s Glenn Durgan are coordinators for the “Take a Vet Fishing” outreach program, the Hartford Courant reports.
The event will take place at the Manchester Coon and Fox Club in Coventry and will include veterans from many towns across the state - and also from all of the Veteran’s Administration medical centers.

The First Congregational Church of Branford began this program in 2007 as a way to celebrate and support veterans of all backgrounds.
There are already groups in East Glastonbury, Stafford, Hebron, and Marlborough signed up to host events in 2016.
