Manchester Man Dies of Gunshot Wounds

The man was shot nearly seven weeks ago in East Hartford.

A Manchester resident who was shot in an East Hartford commuter parking lot last month has passed away, and his death is now being investigated as a homicide, state police said.

Gregory Clark, 27, died Sept. 17 from wounds received during the Aug. 6 shooting in the state-owned parking lot off Route 15 northbound at exit 90.

East Hartford police had responded to the shooting around 9:20 that evening, and found a male victim, later identified as Clark, seated in a car at the intersection of Main Street and Silver Lane.

Police initially reported Clark had “sustained several non-life threatening gunshot wounds, and was transported to Hartford Hospital for evaluation.”

East Hartford police initiated an investigation, determined the shooting occurred in the commuter lot and contacted state police troopers at Troop H in Hartford.

State police detectives from the Central District Major Crime Squad (CDMC) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Detectives learned that the shooting victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Sept. 17. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide following the post-mortem examination.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Central District Major Crime Squad detectives are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at Troop H at 860-534-1000. All calls will be kept confidential.
