Manchester Man Nearly Hits Worker Amid 132 MPH Highway Sprint: Cops
A driver is facing 10 criminal charges after a wild ride on a state highway, according to a report.

COLCHESTER, CT — A Manchester man was corralled by state police after a wild ride on Route 2 during which he was traveling in excess of 130 MPH, state police said.
A 10:28 a.m. Monday, state troopers conducting speed enforcement detail on near Exit 17 on Route 2 in Colchester clocked a 2014 Range Rover at 132 MPH in a posted 65 MPH zone, an incident report indicates. While troopers were attempting to pull the over the SUV, it exited the highway at Exit 17 and nearly struck a Connecticut Department of Transportation worker at the intersection of the ramp and Mill Hill Road, according to an incident report.
Before losing visual contact with the Range Rover, troopers also observed it passing other vehicles in no passing zones in the area of Old Hartford Road, according to an incident report.

Troopers then discovered the Range Rover parked in a garage at a business located on Old Colchester Road and the driver admitted he was hiding from authorities, according to a report.
The driver was identified as Faizal Fasasi, 23, of Manchester. He was transported to the Troop K barracks, where he was charged with:

- Second-degree reckless endangerment
Fasasi was being held on a $25,000 bond at Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center and was to be arraigned at Norwich Superior Court Tuesday, state police said.
