
Alvira " Ms. Dottie" Lee left this world peacefully on December 17th, 2016 at 2:00 am at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford.
She was born in Flint River Saint Mary, JA on July 20th, 1934. She worked at Metal Box in Kingston, JA for 32 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Alvira then migrated to The United States of America where she continued her profession.
She resided with her youngest daughter Velma Simpson until her passing. Alvira was a God fearing woman who is still loved by many. Her carefree personality was contagious and her humbleness was that of a saint. Loving, patient and kind are just a few words used to describe her character.

She mothered Sylvia "Blossom" Edwards, who predeceased her and is survived by her youngest daughter Velma "Cherry" Simpson. Her legacy is fruitful. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
She was not only respected as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother by her biological family, Ms. Dottie was the mother of many who sought sound advice from a wise objective woman. Her tenacity was astounding as well as her beauty. She will be greatly missed. She maintained steadfast in her faith up until her last days working diligently to spread God's word wherever she visited.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 5-8 PM at Carmon Winsdor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor and then again Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 9-10 AM at New Horizon Baptist Church, 40 Pitkin St., Manchester followed by funeral services at 10 :00 AM at the church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield; the date is open to the public for anyone that would like to attend her homegoing.
