Manchester Obituary: Edith Anderson, 103

Edith Veronica (Phelan) Anderson, 103, longtime resident of Manchester and loving wife of the late William Anderson, died Monday, September 26, 2016 at a local convalescent home.

Mrs. Anderson was born in New York City on November 15, 1912, daughter of Frank and Teresa (Volaw) Phelan. She was raised in New York, came to Connecticut, married Frank in Enfield in 1940, and has been a resident of Manchester since 1952. Prior to retiring she was a longtime employee at the former W.T. Grant store in downtown Manchester.

She is survived by her son, William L. Anderson of Jacksonville, FL and three grandchildren. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Anderson.

A graveside service will held Friday, Sept. 30, at 1:00 PM in the East Cemetery (Section L Westminster, off Autumn Street) in Manchester.
